TAHI's MISSION

To accelerate the adoption of interoperable products and services by connected home-based users

TAHI consists of many member organisations which work together to achieve this mission.

The important issue is to ensure that all the support frameworks are in place to allow service providers to deliver services to people, to ensure that applications can use the available systems in people's businesses and homes, to ensure that they can work together and can interoperate.

This can only happen if all the stakeholders are represented. Thus there must be the political and financial support, industry, manufacturers, integrators and service providers must agree in the objectives and become part of the ecosystem together with the end users, the people who will buy, install (or have installed) and use the new connected and intelligent systems.

TAHI is an attempt to bring a wide range of stakeholders together to provide such a framework. TAHI members are Corporate, SME and Governmental and International, European and National and cover multiple sectors.

An Interoperability Ecosystem is essential and indeed a lack of Interoperability is a major market barrier. TAHI has developed an Interoperability Framework Requirements Specification (IFRS) which is now standardised as CENELEC CWA50560:2010 IFRS to ensure that multiple services can use multiple systems and devices in the home interoperably..

TAHI supports this with interactive Industry Sector forums of Industry Experts and Movers with the objective of demonstrating the potential systems for future homes and promoting implementations that people can see and understand and ultimately by creating the environment for growth.
