| ASSISTIVE LIVING - INDUSTRY SECTOR WORKING GROUP (ALWG)
This page is the introduction page for the Assisted Living - eHealth, Telecare, Community & Wellbeing ISG. Mission To demonstrate the benefits of interoperability for Assistive Living by bringing together participants in all aspects with those in other Market sectors to drive forward implementations of Assistive Living activities in the UK and promote mutual understanding. Description The Assisted Living Group concentrates on ensuring there is Interoperability between Assistive Living services to and in the home and all the other services that are beginning to become widespread in the connected home. It is dedicated to ensuring that interoperability prevails within the sector but also that the Assistive Living sector can utilise many other systems from other sectors in the home space in order to deliver the best possible environment and outcome for people using Assistive Living technologies. We believe that the wide perspective of TAHI Members and their involvement in the other TAHI ISGs. This ensures that the group has meetings where health professionals mix and network with people from other sectors so that understanding of the requirements and issues of the Health and Care sectors is widely disseminated ensuring products and services matched to these requirements. This group will work to prepare Use Cases and applications for the connected home that can co-operate with services from other WGs to deliver interoperability and good user interfaces for other sectors as well as defining service sets that are purely communication and entertainments based. Together with other ISGs it will seek to promote TAHI Member involvement in the EU AAL projects and the FI PPP and will aim to be involved in the initial and ongoing use cases and subsequent tesbeds and deployment. The Group is dedicated to bringing understanding across the sector and ensuring that ultimately everything works together. As an adjunct to this TAHI is developing an Interoperability Framework Requirements Specification that makes sure that there are basic rules for Interoperability and that these get enshrined in a European Standard. This will help to ensure that existing and future services and systems in all sectors that are delivered and used in the Digital Home will be able to work together and share resources. This Group is led by: Charles Lowe of Telehealth Solutions Limited.
